Auto start computer

Did you know, most recent motherboard has function to wake up on alarm and turn on your computer at the time you specified?

 how to do it?
1) Turn on yur computer
2) During boot up, press"delete" to enter cmos setup
3) Go to power management tab
4) Set wake up on alarm to "Enable"
5) Set to how many day the function will active or simply set it to every day
6) Set the time computer will auto start
7) Save and exit.
8) congratz - you just got your self and overprice alarm clock

This option are useful when you're doing  maintenance on your computer or running you download at specified time

Window XP installation by USB drive

Full XP Install

1. download usb multiboot 10, a software use to copy installation file from original window CD and making USB drive bootable
   
2. Unpack to any folder. THE PATH TO YOUR FOLDER MUST BE SIMPLE AND WITHOUT SPACES! (ex. c:\usb_multiboot_10)
3.   plug in your USB drive.
   1. ALL DATA ON YOUR STICK WILL BE ERASED! do some back up before running USB MultiBoot 10
4. Run USB_MultiBoot_10.cmd. follow text description.
5. Format utility will apear. Choose NTFS for USB drive more 4Gb and FAT16 for below 4Gb drive, Start format, Close after finishing to allow the DOS operations to continue.
   1. diamondsw: Using the “HP format” option works fine for any capacity, and you can use FAT32 without problems . This can be useful as more systems can read FAT32 than NTFS.
   2. NOTE: If you are doing this from a Vista or se7en machine, you may need to run PeToUSB.exe as adminstrator in order for this program to recognize the jump drive. (Right click PeToUSB.exe > Properties > Compatibility > “Run this program as an administrator” checked.)
6. Set options 1 and 2. Set option 0 only if you want to use USB HDD instead of a USB stick/ SD card.
7. Do not touch other options if you have no idea about it.
8. Choose 3 after setting all other options. It will create the image and write it to the USB stick as well as making the USBstick / SD card bootable.
9. Answer Yes to all questions that come up (these vary depending on options selected).
10. When it finishes copying, remove your usb stick and insert it in the target system to install XP.
11. When you turn on the PC,change boot device to usb drive (you can do this by boot select option or simply set boot from USB in CMOS setting ). You'll need to do this at each reboot until XP is fully installed and you've logged in.
12. Choose Text installation at first time and GUI INSTALLATION AFTER REBOOT TWICE! - ( Choose step 1 to start installing, after reboot choose step two, after continued install press step 2 AGAIN to log into XP - As soon as you arrive at the Windows XP Desktop you can safely remove the USB drive
    
    1. If you get hal.dll not found errors, read carefully the last two last bullets!
    2. If you get 'ntldr is missing' or other boot errors after you have ran text installation make sure you have deleted ALL partitions during 'text installation' this includes the BIOS partition.

IMPORTANT! DO NOT REMOVE USB STICK UNTIL YOU'LL SEE XP's LOGIN SCREEN!

Hidden Folder in MS Window

Guide on how to hide folder better than just adding hidden attribute.

1) Create a new folder

2) Rename the new folder an invisible character. You can do this by renamed the folder and using    ALT+0160. You should now have a folder with a " " as its name.

3) To make the folder  icon gone, change folder icon by right click to the folder, click "properties" then go to "customize" tab

Click on "change icon" then select transparent background as icon Then click OK and apply

See empty space under the blue box?thats the transparent icon

Your hidden folder are done now , you can add some flavor by changing its attribute as "hidden" or "system"

In order to delete the folder you’ll need to rename it in the command prompt by typing:

< ren " " anynamehere > That’s not a space in between the quotes. You need to press ALT+1060. You’ll then be able to delete the folder.

Deep freeze Unfreezer

Annoyed by your computer administrator in college give you limited student account to log in to window and every software that you use got wipe out every time the computer reboot?, Install deep freeze in you computer and the next day, you forgot the password? 

Deep Freeze, by Faronics, is an application available for the Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and SUSE Linux operating systems which allows system administrators to protect the core operating system and configuration files on a workstation or server by restoring a computer back to its original configuration each time the computer restarts

Despite of its kernel base operation and highly secure application, there is a way to remove Deep Freeze password so you can thaw the protection offer by Deep Freeze

Here the drill:

First, download this software : Deep Freeze password remover

2) Then run Deep Freeze password remover that you have downloaded

3) Click on "Change It" button and then hit OK.

4) Close Deep Freeze password remover software.

5) Now, open Deep Freeze (Shift + Double click on Deep Freeze 6 icon or press ctrl + alt + shift + F6 button) and just press enter when deep freeze prompt a password (you can also put any password). This password will be accepted and you will be able to access Deep freeze 6 control panel where you can change "Boot Frozen" to "Boot Thawed".

6) Now reboot and simply uninstall Deep Freeze 6 from your computer as you do for other normal applications.

Note: This Deep Freeze password remover can be use to to remove password of Deep Freeze between version 6-6.3. This may or may not work to uninstall Deep Freeze other versions.

Recover or find lost Window password

Most of us have surely have bad experience when we forgot our precious Microsoft Window password, so here the solution - This tutorial provide for educational or individual purpose only. Use at your own risk

The easiest way is to use Ophcrack live cd. you can get it here : http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/

1 - Download Ophcrack LiveCD, depend on the operating system of computer that you want to recover (refer as 'target' after this) . The size of LiveCD image you're downloading is quite large. The Windows XP version is 452MB and the Windows Vista version is 532MB.

2 - Finish download? next step is to burn the download Ophcrack iso file to a cd. (you can use power iso or nero but make sure it is burn as bootable cd or your livecd wont run later.)

3 - Done burn the iso to cd,   put it in target pc cdrom drive then restart the target pc. boot from cdrom or simply set cdrom as primary boot device

4 - After liveCD done loading, you will see 3 Ophcrack menu - graphic mode, graphic VESA mode, and text mode, select 1st option that is graphic mode or simply do nothing.just wait for a few second then ophcrack will continue to load

5 - Wait till screen like this load -

6 - The ophcrack software will automatically try to find any password available on the target system.its done fully automatically, wait for a few minutes and voila! you got the password.

under user column you can see available user or 'window user account name'. Under NT pwd column are recovered password for the specified user. empty NT pwd column mean no password available.
